1. Overground roller shutter
This overground roller shutter is placed at the edge of the pool and is available with or without protective casing.
You can choose between a white, colored or solar roller shutter. We offer PVC as well as PC (polycarbonate) slats. Polycarbonate is a more expensive raw material but with a extended durability. Plus, the material allows for a better preservation of the water temperature. If you would choose solar, you automatically choose a wooden protective casing to protect the roller shutter from overheating. A roller shutter prevents a loss of heat. This way, you save a great deal of energy. A solar roller shutter heats up your swimming pool with a few degrees.
But be careful to leave the filter of your swimming pool on in case you choose the solar slats. Stagnant water doesn’t allow the solar slats to cool off enough and this could damage them. Every kind of slat needs to be out of the sun when not in the water. Overheating may lead to deformation. We advise to choose colored slats in combination with solar heating (if your space allows of course). In case you heat your pool with a heat pump, we recommend to use solar slats.
It is easy to concatenate the slats yourself or even to remove a damaged slat. There are two ways. If you would use the ‘click method’, you hook the slats at one end into another. The other method, the ‘sliding method’, requires you to put the male side of the slat into the female slat and slide the one into the other. Make sure in both cases that the slats don’t jam. Each slats consists out of three compartments. Each compartment contains air which optimizes the buoyancy and limits the heat loss.
Safety is one of the most important features of the swimming pool roller shutter. It is obligated in France to foresee a licensed safety system. A roller shutter is one of those licensed systems. French brands have put the key switch on the roller shutter itself. If something or someone would slip and fall into the pool while the shutter is closing, you can anticipate directly. You will see or hear it immediately!
The cover is tailored to your pool, making it perfectly sealed. When you placing the order, you tell us the measurements of your swimming pool. You have to measure the width on at least 5 different places. The most narrow entrance in the pool is used to calculate the length of the slats. In case of hot weather, the slats extended. For this reason, the delivered slats will always be a couple of centimeters more narrow than the pool itself.
Caution: you can only use one type of ladder if you have a swimming pool roller shutter
Preparation:
- The two supports carrying the barrel have to be securely put on a firm and level surface.
- The edge stone cannot traverse. Truncate them on both sides of the pool if necessary.
- The shutter functions on a low voltage engine of 24 volt. To ease the installation, we recommend to put your electric and hydraulic pipes in advance. The maximum thickness of the electric pipe is 4 mm. The required amount of pipes depends on the selected type. The exact details will be shared after your order.
- The duct can also be placed in advance. A duct with a diameter of 9 cm is sufficient.
